Calvin Marion

Calvin Marion has a lifelong passion to educate and empower. He taught school in Polk County for 7 years. During this time, his students have been among the top in the state in Standardized test. For example in 2003 while teaching at Union Academy his students ranked 6th in the state of Florida on the Math portion of the FCAT. Mr. Marion has also seen unparalleled growth in his students performance during his short teaching career. He believes that students should do better because of him, not in-spite of him. He has led his students to victories in a number of math competitions including MathCounts. Mr. Marion has worked with programs like Crop, Upwardbound, and the CARE Program at Florida State University. In these programs he built student's confidence while teaching them to master concepts assessed on Standardized Test. Mr. Marion has faced many challenges, including students that were diagnosed as EMH, and has overcome them. He awaits the opportunity to be of service to you and your family.

Brendon Reems

Brendon Reems is one of our tutors we have on-staff here at CLM. Her passion for learning and knowledge sprouted at a really young age. She received two bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Health & Society from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. There she worked as a tutor in various STEM subjects for Upward Bound. She is currently a doctoral student at Jackson State University studying Clinical Psychology. She enjoys cooking, shopping, and spending time with her family and her dog, Yoshi.

Mica Sylvestre

Mica Sylvestre was born into a family of educators, which influenced her love and passion for teaching. She has taught in Polk County for 11 years. In her years of teaching she educated regular education and ESE students, including those who were blind and deaf. She encourages her students to strive for their best. Graduating from FAMU with a degree in Elementary Education, she taught first grade for two years, then accepted a position at Union Academy International Baccalaureate School teaching sixth grade. She has also completed a graduate degree from Nova University in Management and Organization of Educational Programs. She enjoys bowling, reading, and spending time with her husband and two sons. Mrs. Sylvestre looks forward to educating your child also!
